We begin our journey to the Northeast, once the most flowery municipality in Europe and natural habitat of the second rarest bird in Europe, the Priolo.
A first and brief stop on the North Coast, at the Miradouro de Sta Iria, to admire the beautiful Nothern Coast and it's time to get back on the road towards Gorreana Tea Plantation.
This is the only existing Industrial Tea Plantation in all Europe, and it has been working non stop since 1883. Inside, the old machinery still working and processing the 100% natural and organic Green and Black Azorean Tea. Time for tasting this fantastic drink.
Next stop is at Ribeira dos Caldeirões Natural Park, one of the most visited areas in the Northeast, where its water mills, the magnificent waterfall, and the trail that winds along the riverside stand out. This park takes us to a journey of learning about the ancient life in the most remote district of the island.
Time for a typical buffet lunch, where the food reminds us of homemade flavours.
After this, we visit Vila do Nordeste, admiring the Ponte dos Sete Arcos and the peaceful center of the village. At Vista dos Barcos viewpoint, we have a view of Ponta do Arnel and its Lighthouse, the oldest in São Miguel and the first to be seen by the ships comming to the Island.
Time to head to one of the most emblematic viewpoints in the Nordeste district, Ponta do Sossego. An authentic botanical garden by the sea, or in this case, on top of the cliff by the sea where we can observe the immensity of the Ocean.
Arrival at the Hotel around 6 pm, hoping that it was another memorable day in your visit to São Miguel.
Take a journey to the most beautiful gardens in the oldest part of the island with breathtaking views over the Atlantic Ocean.
Go back in time and enjoy Paradise
